Process Note
Over twelve days between the winter solstice and the new year, I fed a few words from my early morning journaling practice into Midjourney. The prompts were sparse, mostly just words like imagination or winter time or feeling safe coming home. I would play a little, iterating until an image struck me as being interesting or somehow fitting my mood.
Then I wrote back to each image - a small, sparse, condensed poem.
Prior images were used as tonal reference, so the visual world accumulated on its own. Afterward, I reordered the spreads and lightly edited the text to find the story that had been building. Then I made this video and companion storybook.
The whole process was an experiment in creating materials and then using those materials to create.
