This was a project I did basically during the pandemic. I started writing a poem a day. Once ‘real life’ started again it got harder to write everyday, which is interesting.
I have started to edit some of these mostly the kids poetry. I think there might be enough here for a book. We shall see.
Abrading my
nerves the
xylophone plays
incessantly,
each wrong note
tempting me to
yell STOP!
Stop
Unwind
Nap
Dilly-dally
Allow action to
Yield
Concentrate
Outside
Not on Self
No
Enough of Self
Consider
Them
Buzz buzz buzzing
Under the window
Serenading in the garden
Yarrow inviting them
By showing off her foliage
Each taking a turn
Eating a few grains
Saving some for later
Have some fun
Open the door wide
Let in the light
Invite your friends
Dance and laugh and sing
Allow the love to pour in
You are on Holiday!
