This was a project I did basically during the pandemic. I started writing a poem a day. Once ‘real life’ started again it got harder to write everyday, which is interesting.
I have started to edit some of these mostly the kids poetry. I think there might be enough here for a book. We shall see.
I make no claim that much of this is “good” poetry. But I do make the claim that I loved doing it and I learned something and some of it makes me cry.
a good poem
a good poem
a pond
plain beautiful words
floating
the moon
arranging light
perfectly
conjuring
this moment
my poems
want to run
in the sun
for some fun
get her done!
fling some mud
hear the thud
ain’t no dud!
a good poem
doubt creeps in
doubt creeps in
holds your hand
makes you question
what you’d planned
pulls you down
into the dark
dims your light
dampens your spark
ideas once
seemed to glow
now concern
is all you know
time to dig
inside so deep
turn from doubt
and courage keep
