This was a project I did basically during the pandemic. I started writing a poem a day. Once ‘real life’ started again it got harder to write everyday, which is interesting.
I have started to edit some of these mostly the kids poetry. I think there might be enough here for a book. We shall see.
trucks croak
outside my window
trucks croak
the saws buzz
hammers bark
workers caw
the machinery cackles
the frogs, bees, fox, crows and geese
are silent
The Daily Hum
Maybe meet your true self
when you are making toast.
Maybe see a path so true
waiting for the roast.
Maybe understand it all
washing the dog’s hair.
Maybe unlock mysteries
climbing up the stairs.
Life often reveals itself
in surprising, subtle moments.
The daily hum of this and that
may awake the potent.
