This was a project I did basically during the pandemic. I started writing a poem a day. Once ‘real life’ started again it got harder to write everyday, which is interesting.
ode to the sticky
ode to the sticky
moist dense and hot
how much more water
does this air got??
one week ago
the fog and the mist
not sure I love
this dramatic plot twist
how 'bout a breeze?
just a little cool wind?
of course, when the cold comes
I’ll be whining again!! 😩
change will come
first too cold
then too hot
rain and grey
then it’s not
change will come
you can decide
to embrace
or run and hide
stuck on the weather
I’m stuck on the weather.
I’m caught up and tethered!
I need to to move on and
get it together!
another rain rhyme
I’m sure you are bored of hearing
of rain and clouds never clearing
but I woke again to wet and rain
a weather poem again, again!
I’m sure this pattern soon will break
a new view then these words can take
but until that glorious time
another rain rhyme I must find!
enjoy right now
What’s that I see?
A slice of sun!!
Instead of clouds —
the light has won!
It won’t last long,
the map says rain.
Enjoy right now —
alive again!
cold and wet
drizzle sprinkles mist and rain
all of these are quite a pain
cold and wet and gray and drab
none of these will make me glad
soon we yell YAY!
today
more gray
let’s pray
it gives way
soon we yell YAY!
when the sun comes to play!!
closing doors
here comes the wind
still no snow
dark again
it’s winter, no?
as it seems
all things will change
the mind must shift
and rearrange
what was once
is no more
we must adjust
to closing doors
